Some Common Courtesy Rink Rules:
1) Make sure you remove your blade guards before stepping on the ice!(makes skating impossible)
2) When skating backwards always check over your shoulder for other skaters, this is one of the most common collisions.
3) There is a yellow line painted on the ground at the canteen end of the rink. Spectators are not allowed to stand within this line
during figure sessions as this end is where our senior skaters attempt their biggest jumps. If parents are hanging over the boards
talking to their kids at this spot then they are putting both skaters in danger of a collision. If you would like to stand at rinks edge
please move along the side, out of danger.
4) There is to be no loitering on the ice. If you want to talk or play please leave the ice to those who want to practise.
5) If you fall, please get up as quickly as possible. If you lie around on the ice you are putting yourself and other skaters in danger of
another collision
6) Coaches ALWAYS get first priority with playing music and if your coach is not available to put on music ask an adult or older skater
to help. Plus, you cannot repeatedly play your music over and over in one session, everyone gets a fair amount of plays and we
usually limit it to 3 plays per session unless it is unusually quiet or the coach requires replays.
7) If there is a skater who is behaving recklessly around you, please tell your coach so the they can deal with the problem.
8) Respect ALL skaters. Seniors were once beginners and beginners want to become seniors!
Thanks
